Again, my leave of absence takes a toll on my blog!  I can't even say I was busy, but I've had an overwhelming feeling of tiredness, since I returned from our trip from Spain on 5/7.

It was my first time out of the US, and I have to say, it was enlightening.  I've been to many places in the US, but never have I come home with such a sad feeling. Barcelona was a wonderful city, and the convention hosts were fantastic.  Many new friends were made,  new foods were tried, and overall, I really hope we get to go back to Barcelona (or another city in Spain for that matter).  I'd say more about my trip, since I haven't made a post about it here, but the majority of my post would be about food, since we didn't have a lot of time after the convention, to do much else! Though, I will happily go to any city, and only get to experience the food!  I do need to mention, that I was thoroughly disappointed coming back to the US and having to go back to having to constantly question "where" and "how" my food ended up at the grocery store (even though we shop for produce at a local organic/health food shop--I still question all that doesn't come from my garden).   Other than the food, coffee has been forever ruined for me! There is nothing quite like spanish coffee :)

When I returned home, I also found that the majority of my vegetable seedlings had wilted or about died on me.  I am happy to report, that my small banana plant is growing strong! I know it will take up to two years for a dwarf banana to start bearing fruit, but they're such neat looking plants, I had to have one.

I'm really hoping that my 20 tomato plants that were growing strong before we left, come back. Some are regaining their green, and sprouting new leaves, so I'm hoping--especially since I transplanted them-- that it was just a case of crazy shock.  I can't lose my entire tomato crop AGAIN this year (last year I had plants, but the mice that lived next to my garden attacked them all).

Wrapped Labradorite on sterling silver chain $30

Other exciting news, is that it's been ONE YEAR since I opened J Magnolia Designs. In honor of it, I bought myself  a new wig jig (the beadalon centaur), so that I can make more uniform findings for my earrings/necklaces/etc. I've needed one for a while, as it's hard to make decorative wire pieces uniform for things like earrings, without one. They come out almost perfect, but I would prefer an easier way to do it.  I broke my metal punch  the first day of using it, which I was rather annoyed about, but what can you do?  I bought a cheap one, and that was my own fault.   I may decide to do a giveaway in the near future, but right now, I can't afford to give anything away!

Otherwise, things have been fairly stressful, as I'm running low on saved funds, and I'm starting to get really worried that things are not going to turn out the way I hoped. I've been doing a lot of odd jobs in an attempt to at least earn a p/t income, so I have that, but it's been tough. My anxiety level is definitely at a high!

Book Review: "Blaze of Glory" by M.Garzon

Blaze of Glory by M Garzon $14.95 (paperback)
------------------------
Let me start out by saying this: I am in no way a fan of the romance/life drama genre of books. Actually, I'm more of the classic literature type of booknerd, and I've spent more time reading works by authors such as James Joyce, and William Faulkner, and Oscar Wilde, than anything else.  It's rare I'd ever consider doing a book review on book that falls into a genre, I find to be a general disgrace to the world of literature.

That being said, I in no way agreed to do this book, without KNOWING full well that there was going to be a lot of cliché "romance themes", and "life drama". However,  when doing a book review, regardless of one's prior experience with a genre, one must learn to go into it with an open mind, and that is precisely what I did.

------------------------

Blaze of Glory by M Garzon, focuses on the life of Tea, a 17 year old girl with a rebellious attitude, her brother Seth, and the stepfather, Dec(lan) who adopted them when their mother died, and his famous pro-polo player and "golden child" nephew, Jaden.

Tea has the kind of attitude most 17 year old's have, as she seems to actively search out things that will inevitably make her stepfather angry.  Tea has a horse named Blaze, whom she is training as a jumper, and has already received a lot of buzz about her abilities.

The story starts out with Tea and Seth's cousin Jaden, coming to town, after being away for five years. Their stepfather Dec, is thrilled as Jaden is his "favourite nephew". Tea takes an immediate disliking of the fact that her family fawns over Jaden and his life as a high profile, world traveling polo player, whom is now attending law school.  A goody-two shoes, who she believes has lead an ultra privileged life, and doesn't understand the trials of living like her and her brother Seth-- balancing high school and a social life, with all the hard work of maintaining the stables and boarded horses at their stepfather's farm.

Tea spends a lot of her time in this story coaching lessons, and training her horse Blaze, on jumping courses. She manages to send Dec into fits of anger, with her forgetfulness of jumping without wearing a helmet, among other moments of forgetfulness of riding safety. We find out the kind of anger problems Dec has, when Tea and her friend Teri decide to take up "secret" jobs at the racetrack, as exercisers, to help pay for her entry fee in the biggest competition, The Royal. The track is forbidden territory,  and Tea makes sure that the week her and Teri are working, that Dec is out on business.  The first few days go off without a hitch.  Then, as she's taking a horse back to the stables, she sees, to her horror, her cousin Jaden. After a heated argument about how Dec would be VERY displeased  with her being there, Jaden tells Tea that as long as she ceases working the rest of the week at the track, he'll keep the whole thing from Dec. She gives a false promise and continues work, and is again, found out by Jaden, whom this time, doesn't take the situation lightly and basically hoists her over his shoulder in the most embarrassing manner possible and carries her out of the track, with her "kicking and screaming", the whole way.   Because of the break of trust, Jaden tells Dec what Tea was up to while he was away, and Dec's truly dark side emerges.  Tea basically blacklists Jaden for his betrayal, deeming him a nuisance that's going to ruin her life if he has the ability to do so.  She challenges him at every possible opportunity, making it a pretty strained relationship early on.

There was plenty of horse-related storyline here, to please anyone with an interest in horses, but don't buy this book thinking that it's the focus of the story.  I'll admit, there was enough horse-speak that I had to look a few things up, to figure out what in the world the characters were talking about, but other than that, horses seem to be an after-thought compared to the somewhat, "forbidden love" romance aspect of the story.

The cast of characters each add their own significant importance in the story, and none seem too under developed.   Tea, the main focus of the story, is a witty, highly intelligent 17 year old, whose antics are somewhat humorous, if you are an adult reading this story, as you've probably done comparably silly things.  If you're reading this as a teenager, I'd assume that some of her misadventures,  will be highly relate-able.

The mid-story tragedy that Tea experiences is the turning point of the book, and from that point on is where the story starts taking a rather, well, peculiar turn, as Tea  is faced with some strong emotions, that if let known, her family will likely chastise and possibly disown her over.  The rest of the story we venture down the road of depression and the darker aspects of Tea's life, as she tries her hardest to get back to the "norm"--something that is seemingly unattainable. Her cousin,  Jaden-- whom she finds out is anything but the poster child for "good behaviour"--  becomes an important aspect of her life, as he becomes her "shoulder to cry on",  and acts as a diffuser between her and Dec, when things get rough.  Things become increasingly difficult between Tea and Dec, as she continues to toe the lie of acceptable behavior and down right rebellious/stupid teen shenanigans.

Overall, M Garzon wrote a fine piece of romantic-fiction. It has all the basic romance genre elements (the tragedy, and the trials of forbidden love).  The big "plot twist",  was expected, as the entire beginning of the story was eluding to it. You'll see it coming a mile away, but it doesn't make the idea any less "scandalous".  The author does a good job of mixing some real-life teenage situations, into her work of fiction; no being afraid to spotlight some of the "darker" sides of teenage rebellion, there are significant amounts of the book highlighting misadventures of alcohol and drug use, sex, and the effects of depression and peer pressure.

If your cup of tea centers around the world of the harlequin romance novel, and you happen to also have a love of the world of horses, I highly suggest picking up a copy of this book.  You'll be sucked into the scandalous love affair that this book revolves around, the tragedies that life throws us all,  along with all the crazy adventures and trials of the highly likeable characters, you'll be glued to this book.   (If you're like me, and the mere idea of "romance novel" turns your stomach, I'd steer clear of this one! )

The book is apparently scheduled to be a major tv series, so if you're interested in buying this book, grab a copy on amazon!  You know, so you can say you read the book "before it was a hit tv series" ;)

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.tomoson.com/?code=BOTTOM8f94bb7d47dd21a37ea667583dc972d3">Tomoson.com</a>. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Some New Items, and Upon Other things!

Well, the last time I posted it was about getting a new camera, and well, I received it about a week
and a half ago! I've already had a couple sales since changing all my photos, so *fingers crossed* that this is REALLY what my shop needed!

Now I also posted about using pre-made chains.  It's saved me a lot of time when I'm doing wire wrapped pendants, that's for sure. I can now focus more on those sorts of things, instead of feeling overwhelmed by doing all the wrapping work, and then realising I still have to make the
Wire Wrapped Labradorite Pendant $30
chain! The photo on the right, displays the "process" that chains are made.  Starting out as wire (usually 18-22g, depending on how fine I want the chain), I coil a whooooole bunch of it, then cut each individual ring--all I have is one pair of small flush cutters, and when you're dealing with 2mm jump rings, you can't do much more than cut one at a time. After I have a pile of them, I start linking each ring, one by one. The whole process would take me  2+ hours, depending on how long I needed the chain. Now, when I make pieces that are basically ALL chain, such as what's pictured on the left (and has sold, so unfortunately it is not available any longer), I certainly won't be using pre-made chains, because that would just make me look lazy. There's nothing special about attaching pre-made chains together. So for any jewelry that is MOSTLY just chain, I will still create the chain myself.

On to new items! Since I'm able to work a bit more freely now with wire wrapping, I've made two new pendants (both on sterling silver chains). The first is a wire wrapped piece of labradorite adorned with a tiny hematite star. The pendant measures about 1.5".  I also wrapped a piece of kiwi jasper, in a very "simple" fashion, because I just liked the color of the gemstone so much I didn't want to take over too much with a lot of wire (not that I didn't adore the labradorite, it just begged to be wrapped in more).
Wire Wrapped Kiwi Jasper $30

Wire Wrapped Crystal Earrings

Hammered-Half Hoop Earrings $18.00
I also created some SUPER light weight hammered aluminum earrings, with swarovski crystals, and really shiny copper beads. I realized how good of a "close up" my camera does, when I realised I could see it's reflection in the copper beads!

I also created some very primitive looking half hoops, that adorned with greenish, blue gemstones (which I believe are chrysocolla).

As you can see, my new camera certainly captures my jewelry A LOT better than my iPhone!  Needless to say, it definitely inspires me to work more! It was tough when your camera just wasn't capturing things the way it should. Now, I can get  up-close, detailed shots, that compliment my work. Before it was just a basic "over view" and any enlargement of the photo would just give you a grainy close up.

That's all I have for today! Be on the look out in the next couple of days, for  two gift card giveaways!

Oh. eBates, why didn't I start using you sooner?

I know I'm the last person in the WORLD to start using eBates.com,  but I really am kicking myself for it! Almost every place I shop online is on there. I could have been saving a lot of money had I believed the TV ads!   Since all those "flower giving" holidays are coming up (easter, mother's day, etc.), I suggest hopping on the eBates band wagon. because places like 1-800 flowers, FTD, and Telaflora give about 12-16% cash back.

Gemstone and Glass Bead Cluster Bracelet $30

If you haven't yet, I hope you'll stop on by my J Magnolia Designs to see all the great jewelry I have available! Mother's day is JUSSSTT around the corner, why not get your lovely Mom a gift of hand-made jewelry? Want something other than what's already available? Send me a message! I LOVE custom orders!  I have everything from gemstone jewelry, to swarovski crystal, to funky wire/chain jewelry! I'm sure there's something you, or someone you know would love! If not, I'll make it!

Speaking of my jewelry shop, I'm happy to announce I FINALLY purchased a new camera! Which means BETTER photos of my jewelry, for your buying/browsing pleasure.  I will no longer have to rely on my iPhone for product photos, AND I can start taking photos again in general. I've really missed it. The iPhone is great when you're out with friends,  but the quality is not print quality and you can only do so much with iPhone images.

Don't think about it, JOIN NOW!

I bet you're wondering, "How did you pay for that? She has been complaining for months she needs to sell more jewelry to buy a camera!". Well,  thanks to the marvelous, wonderful, spectacular SWAGBUCKS I was able to only pay about $20 out of pocket for it. It took a lot, but I did surveys and searched, and watched loads of swagbucks tv, and my $120 purchase (the camera was marked down from $179.99--it was a Panasonic Lumix 16mpx, and I got it for $101, and I also bought a 16gb sd card with it) ended in me only spending $20.  Sure, it's only a point and shoot, but that's all I need right now to improve my business and take some nice photos (as my fiancé always says, it's not the tools it's the artist).  I can't wait until I get it in the mail, and can start retaking all my shop photos!

I'm hoping with all the success I've had with SWAGBUCKS, so far,  I'll be able to take a big chunk out of Christmas shopping this year. I figure, I've only been on Swagbucks since November/December 2011, so with a bit of work I can earn a lot of Amazon gift cards from now until then. Maybe I'll even give some away every so often ;)

Bally Wallet Giveaway--Last Hours to Enter!

Don't forget to enter for your chance to win a Bally Leather Wallet (Value: $350)! We're down to the last hours of the giveaway, so if you haven't entered, do so now!

Wooden Bangle Bracelets, Wood Matters
I also wanted to stop by here and introduce you all to the gorgeous bangle bracelets, my fiancé's brother-in-law makes!  Here's the description taken from his facebook fanpage:

"Michael designs bangle bracelets using all natural exotic woods from Africa, Australia; North, Central and South America. The style of their construction is known as "segmented wood turning", a method much like assembling a unique puzzle. This method is enjoying a resurgence due to new cuts and designs made possible with new techniques and advanced adhesive products."

I have seen these bracelets in "person", and I can attest that they are GORGEOUS.  You will not be disappointed if you decide to treat yourself to one! He doesn't have a store set up, as I believe most of the orders will be "custom" orders (although, the designs he has showcased, I believe he will reproduce for you if you desire).   So please, stop by his facebook page, and check out the other designs! There is contact information on the page as well, for ordering/questions!

Interested in "what the heck"segmented woodturning is? Click the term, I've linked it to the wikipedia page!

Natural Green Jade Flower Necklace and Earrings Set $35.00
Mermaid Hair Comb $20.00

Now on to my own things!  I just relisted a few items on my store, yesterday, but the weekend has been so busy I haven't had a chance to mention them here! The first piece is a Natural Green Jade Flower Necklace and Earring Set! This set features wonderful green jade flowers, and the (handcrafted) silver plated, nickel free chain is adorned with milky green aventurine and 2mm rose quartz beads.

I really love this necklace, and this is actually the "second" time I've made it. I shouldn't say that! I actually deconstructed the first piece, and redesigned it, with better quality chain (nickel free, and tarnish resistant, instead of just silver plated).

The second item that was relisted is actually a hair accessory! I know, I know, I barely make these any longer! I actually intended to ONLY sell hair accessories in the beginning, but then I became infatuated with jewelry design, and I rarely make hair accessories these days! Anyway, this gorgeous hair comb features a large faux seashell adorned with bright green feathers, hot pink flowers, rhinestones, and 'coins', all covered in "netting". It looks just like something a mermaid would wear! I think the piece would be GREAT for a summer beach party! It is rather heavy, so I do suggest that someone with thicker hair wear it .

Yellow Vintage Bead and Crystal Set $12.00

For those with a more "vintage" taste, this necklace and earring set is constructed entirely from vintage beads I found at a local thrift shop! It's so fun! I like to call this the "sunshine" necklace, as it's got that bright yellow sunshine-y glow to it!

There are a few other pieces on my store that are re-listed, so head on over and take a look! I'd really appreciate any kind of "spreading the word" anyone could do for me, as well! As Imentioned a few times in my other posts, I have some oral surgery coming up on wednesday (3/21), and it's going to cost me near $1000, and any amount of money I make from jewelry sales will help a lot !

Oral Surgery, and Comic Conventions?!

Well, finally in 6 days, I will have these silly wisdom teeth removed! I'm actually really quite nervous, and I know it's a simple procedure, but I've never even had a cavity! I've been having nightmares about having the procedure done, and I'm not quite sure why I'm so rattled! I'll be glad to know that when it's all over, that I won't have to worry about these unwanted teeth causing any more problems. They've already messed up my once very straight teeth (though, not horribly, but *I*notice).  Since I do not currently have a lot of money (because J Magnolia Designs is NOT selling as much as I wish it were at this point, and Extraordinarily Digital IS selling, but the prices I charge there, I'd have to design 200 business cards to afford this surgery).

*sigh*.

Anyway, onto news about J Magnolia Designs. I finally received my soldering gun (iron, whatever), in the mail, and I'm so psyched about putting it to good use. Now I can make some pretty sweet settings and things for rings, and pendants for necklaces. I won't lie, I love building things, so being able to solder metal together is awesome to me.  I'm just hoping this gives my jewelry an even more unique look, and it will bring me more success. I'm trying so hard! :C  I'm definitely happy that I can now make more interesting chain designs; something I couldn't do because of not being able to solder the chain links closed so the piece wouldn't fall apart. Needless to say, I'm excited!

Natural Amethyst and Freshwater Pearl Necklace, Bracelet and Earrings set $37

I've basically stopped buying any sort of pre-made pendants, and I'm going to focus a lot more on natural materials, like rough gemstones, and possibly wood (because I can also do some wood burning with my soldering iron).  I started out very basic, and I'm SO, SO thankful for the support I have from family and friends, and friends of friends, who bought my early pieces, that were well made, but lacking in creative design. When I started I was just trying to get things moving, to get myself into a position where I had enough stock in my shop that I didn't have to worry about missing a day or two here and there for other life things. Especially, now that my fiancé is again, attending comic conventions, and I "moonlight"as his assistant/secretary/event coordinator/fan relations (basically PR), I am going to be doing a LOAD of traveling this summer, for his work.

So far, we'll be heading to Barcelona, Spain in May, and then the beginning of June we will be in Germany (Nuremberg, I believe?), then we will be going to Miami a few weeks after Germany.  We still have some up in the air scheduling, but since the traveling in May/June is going to really be a lot (a week in Spain and then  8 days in Germany),  we'll probably only going to schedule con appearances in the US for the remainder of the summer. Maybe. He was just invited to another con out of the country, but that won't happen until December, so at least there is a break!

Speaking of my fiancé, if anyone is in the Allentown, PA area, Rags will be appearing at the Great Allentown Comic Con, this Saturday (3/17).  He WILL be taking commissions, but head shots only ($75), and there will be a limit of 10 (first come, first serve). He will also be selling his 11"x17" prints, for $10, so if you don't have the money for an original, the prints are great, too!

Also! He is hosting a giveaway of his own over on his message board/website(look at the blog), though it requires some comic book knowledge, and a bit of participation. He's giving away a Hawkman Omnibus (selling for about $45 on Amazon these days, though it has an MSRP of $75). The first person to figure out where the "Family Guy"  'tributes', are in the FIRST WAVE books (this was a 6 issue limited series, that came out in 2010), will win the omnibus. No one has figured it out, yet, so you still have a chance if you are able to get a hold or already have the First Wave series.

I suppose that's all the chatter I have for today! Hope all is well with all of you out there, and hopefully, I'll have some awesome giveaways coming up soon! (as soon as I can recover financially from my oral surgery :( )

After a long, long wait...

Shimmering Green Czech Glass "bib" Necklace $25.00
I have...two new pieces of jewelry stocked over at J Magnolia Designs! I know, I know *takes a bow*. It's been SO LONG, but after a lot of positive feedback about just buying bulk chain, instead of killing myself over making my own,I took the plunge, and gosh it makes things so much easier/quicker (better cost for everyone). Now, I still do some of the chain work in pieces, but things that I design that have small chainwork involved, that would otherwise take me 2-4 hours to do, I just buy lengths of chain for. I know, it's not ALL handmade now, but I promise you once I have better tools that make chain making more cost AND time efficient I'll probably go back to it (because it does make me feel really accomplished when I finish chains).

Wire Wrapped Citrine Pendant Necklace $15.00
Though, a few people pointed out that most people DON'T make their own chains, unless it's a specialty chain (which, I can't wait to make really cool looking pieces once I have my soldering gun :D).  Unfortunately, it's just so much more cost effective--especially for the buyer-- if you bought pre-made. It gets RIDICULOUSLY expensive when you have to factor in time it took to make a piece (because yes, artists do bill on time, not just materials- we like most people, do not work "for free").

Anyway, this is going to work out great for me, because now I can spend more time making cool focal pieces, and doing nicer beadwork, without having to worry about the fact I have to spend an additional couple hours throwing together 16"-20" of chain to finish a piece. I can work on my wire wrapping, and my bead work, and well, all sorts of things! So, I'm very excited about being able to not only produce faster, but just make more interesting pieces. I'm probably going to get pretty out there with some, because i have some really awesome ideas in my head, that as soon as I get my soldering iron (gun, whatever you want to call it, I call it an iron, but my fiancé claims that term is dated), I'm going to be fabricating a whole slew of new things.  Now! I just need to sell a lot more often so I can continue justifying making more! :P  Head on over to J Magnolia Designs and check out what I have for sale--there are over 100 items in my shop!

Works in Progress

Since I haven't had anything "NEW" in a long, long time, I thought I'd give you all a sneak peak at the jewelry that is currently "in the works".  At this point, it's a matter of making chains for them, or, purchasing chains. I think the wire wrapped citrine will have a pre-made chain, as I tend to prefer creating the chains for my beaded pieces. I suppose it will all depend on what I find!

In other news, my one custom order hasn't responded in a day or so, so I'm not sure if she still wants me to make the piece, or she decided against it.  I wish etsy's "spam"policies weren't so harsh, I'm terrified of messaging the customer again, to inquire if she still wants the piece, in fear that she'll think I'm trying to push a sale on her, and report me to etsy! Once they've decided you're guilty of spamming and they deactivate your account, there is pretty much no going back! They really need to fix the system, because I've seen quite a few well-meaning people lose their accounts over misunderstandings. I won't get into how there are tons and tons of resellers on etsy that disregard the etsy TOS that still have accounts--but unfortunate people who accidentally irritate someone, get their accounts deleted.

Don't Worry, I Didn't Forget About My Blog

Aurora Borealis Heart Earrings .930 Silver $22.00
Sure feels like I have, though! Apologies for the lack of updates, but I've been so busy lately with two custom jewelry projects, a custom graphics set,  and on top of all that scheduling all the convention appearance for my fiancé, I haven't had a moment to come by and at least say "hello".

I can't say I'm not happy about being busy, though! My fiancé told me to "think positive" and things would start looking up (I'm a terrible pessimistic person). I suppose they have, seeing as this is a break in a month long dry spell as far as sales, go.  I'm working so hard to make this business venture work for me, because I'd really, REALLY prefer working from home, and being able to handle all the business matters for my fiancé, too, so he can focus more on meeting his [way more strict] deadlines.  I just wasn't able to juggle my last full time job (I was an optician), AND help him out, because I was so exhausted by the time I came home.

Swirled Blue Glass Necklace and Earrings $25.00
I have a better sense of self worth, and pride in my work, now that I'm working for myself.  I'm not trying so hard to live up to another person's unrealistic expectations. I like that when something goes wrong, the only person I can blame is myself.

Plus, since I've been a work from home artist, I've been more involved in fun things online, such as blog rings, and being able to participate in fun giveaways! I've learned tons about couponing, and finding fantastic deals--and I'm loving everyone minute of it!

This was a lot of rambling, I apologise! I just wanted to say hello to you all (I have double the amount of followers since the last time I made a post, so "hello" to all the new followers).

Target Knows You're Pregnant! (among other things)

I'm a few days late posting this (about 2 weeks since the article about retailer tracking appeared in the NY Times--though I wasn't so naive to think retailer tracking wasn't happening).  Next time you swipe that frequent shopper card, use your credit or debit card, remember; they're watching you! o.O

Apparently, they can track when a woman has missed her period by analyzing data, thus being able to sneak in coupons for baby related items, whilst making it seem totally normal that they're sending it to you.

Sure, this is a great thing on one hand, seeing as retailers will send coupons and deals specifically relating to your shopping habits/what you actually buy. But really, where is the line at what they can monitor? I don't particularly think it's normal for them to need to know when I've moved, or what other websites I visit online!

Colbert tells this story in a much more humorous way than NY Times, though it is a rather unnerving topic.

New Item! "Save the Date" Printable Wedding Postcards

Save the Date Printable Postcards $4.00
The newest addition to Extraordinarily Digital, printable "save the date" postcards! These sell for $4.00, and I will customise the design with the date of the wedding as well as the bride and groom names. Colors can be changed, however font style/overall design will remain the same.

Currently, this listing is NOT for having them printed, though I am open for that task as well. Obviously, prices will be significantly more if you want me to handle the printing for you! Otherwise, you can print them at home on nice card stock, or have them printed at your local printers! Print as many as you need!

Need more than just "save the date" cards? I'll design invites,  table cards for the reception, anything at all! Contact me via my etsy shop and we'll discuss the design and price! (I promise I will be the least of your budget concerns :P)

Have you all entered the Winter Blast of Cash Giveaway? $700 is up for grabs, so head on over and enter!

Antique Brass Owl Necklace and Earring Set $27.50
I apologise for the lack of updates lately, I have been struggling with some pain from my wisdom teeth (which have finally decided to announce their entrance to the world--14 years after my dentist noticed them growing in).  I've been spending a lot of time trying to find an oral surgeon who isn't CRAZY expensive, seeing as I have NO insurance, and the only funds I have come from my etsy shops (which are not selling enough to pay for tooth extraction, I can tell you that). More debt for this little lady :(  I've been really working my booty off trying to find some freelance design work, to no avail (other than the design contests on prizes.org).

Anyway, enough with the bad news. Since I haven't been able to make anything new for awhile, I thought I'd stop by and showcase a re-listed item,  that I'm very proud of (and wondering why it hasn't sold yet).  It's my antique brass Owl Pendent Necklace and Earrings set! It features antique brass owl heads, and hand made chain (yes, like all my jewelry!)

I've sold you, right? You absolutely want to buy this, I bet!  If this isn't your style, I bet you have a friend that would like it?  Am I right? I sure hope so... :P

That's all I really have today, as I said things have been slow, I've been slow, life is slow. I really need some positive energy and good thoughts flowing my way, hopefully my businesses will pick up soon, so I can stop worrying so much!

Jingit.com

Have you heard of Jingit.com? It's a great site, and you can earn up to $40 a month simply by watching commercials and answering a few questions about them.  Now, you do actually have to WATCH the videos, as jingit will pause what's playing if you navigate away from the page. However, nothing is more than 2-3 minutes long, and on average you only spend about 10 minutes a day there.  Jingit.com also has a smartphone app, where you can earn even more by watching videos, and even "checking in" at places (similar to foursquare). I recommend joining now, while the community isn't HUGE, as I'd only assume they will eventually make sign ups more limited.

Pre-Made Business Card $3.50, $1000 from Swagbucks, and $700 Cash Giveaway!

 Pre-Made Business Card Design $3.50
Since I've been trying to design a lot of things for prizes.org as of late, I have been neglecting my etsy store(s). I do have a really gorgeous necklace in the works, for J Magnolia Designs, but it's been rather tough for me to complete it.  I do get bouts of serious depression, and right now it seems as though I may be dealing with it. I feel very unmotivated and very unlike myself, and it's hard to concentrate, so jewelry making is slow (the tools I use don't help, either, as they aren't made for 'fast production').  ANYWAY, today I decided to add a pre-made business card design to Extraordinarily Digital. That's what the picture is to the right.  It's only $3.50 and I customize it with the details for your business.  It's not an OOAK design, and can (and probably will) be relisted, but if you are interested in making it YOURS, let me know, and I'll make a custom listing (price will probably be $8, since that's the price of my custom business card listing).

In other news, have you joined swagbucks yet? If not, head on over there! They're giving away $1000 to four lucky members this month, and you don't want to miss out on that, do you?

Aren't familiar with swagbucks?  Don't worry, it's FREE to join, and you are NEVER asked to pay for anything.  You earn points from taking surveys, searching the web, watching videos, using coupons (<--I know you're all interested in THAT),  doing tasks, and more.  They do have "daily offers" and special deals, from companies, so you can earn swagbucks for shopping, but you are NEVER forced to buy anything.

Sign up today and use the swagcode BIRTHDAYBASH12 upon registering, to get an additional 110 free swagbucks. That makes the total for signing up 140 instead of 30!  Sounds like a great deal? Well, what are you waiting for? Get over there and register!

Also, don't forget to enter for your chance to win $700 cash, in the Winter Blast of Cash giveaway event!

Prizes.org

In my quest to find another place to make money online (because being that my businesses are not doing as well as I'd like, I need all the help I can get!), I stumbled upon prizes.org.

I almost didn't want to blog about this, since it's highly competitive in the graphic design area, but I can't keep good news to myself!

Basically, people post contests-- anything from helping them name their business, to logo/brand designing, or prizes.org's contests to make a landing page video. The individuals or company put up a certain amount of prize money they're willing to pay for the winnning name, design, video, etc.

So if you're a creative type, or just have a knack for coming up with original names for things, definitely hop on over and check it out! I love it because there are a lot of businesses that need design work done, and I enjoy seeing how I stand up to other graphic artists.

Prizes can be anywhere from $5 up to $10K(that's the winner's spoils for the prizes.org landing page video contest). I think even having the most original tweet about whitney houston gains you $1K!

Heard enough? Good! Stop reading this and head on over to Prizes.org and flex those creative muscles of yours!
